Unleash Quicker Revs & Enhanced Throttle Response

Revitalize your classic drivetrain with the Competition Clutch Ultra Lightweight Steel Flywheel (Part # 2-588-STU). Weighing in at an agile 12.32 lbs, this flywheel significantly reduces rotational mass compared to heavy factory units, delivering the instantaneous throttle response and quick acceleration required for competitive track, rally, and performance street driving.

Why Upgrade to the Competition Clutch STU Flywheel?

  • Engineered for High Performance: Highly recommended for forced induction setups, track racing, and rally applications. Well-suited for Stage 3 and up clutch kits.
  • One-Piece 4140 Forged Steel: CNC-machined from premium chromoly steel for unparalleled durability. Unlike multi-piece aluminum flywheels, this rigid one-piece design eliminates the threat of ring-gear separation or friction plate warping under intense heat.
  • Faster Engine Acceleration: Machined with less material on the outer diameter to drastically lower inertia, allowing your engine to snap into its powerband instantly.
  • SFI Safety Certified: Fully certified to handle extreme RPM shifts and severe racing environments without sacrificing safety.

Whether you're restoring a vintage track build or looking for crisper heel-toe downshifts on the street, this premium ultra-lightweight steel flywheel gives your Nissan 200SX the aggressive, free-revving feel it deserves.

Break-In Procedure

After you install your new Competition Clutch you will want to make sure that the clutch is properly broken in for ultimate operation. To break in your clutch, shift as often as possible during the first 500 miles, by doing so you will make sure that the material from the disc is embedded into the friction surfaces of the pressure plate and flywheel. Following the break-in procedure will ensure that your clutch has the longest possible lifespan. If you have any questions, please reach out to our tech department and we will be happy to help.
